Schamberg disease is die mees algemene tipe pigmented purpuric dermatoses (PPDs) , wat chroniese veltoestande is wat gekenmerk word deur klein rooi of pers kolle, en verhoogde velkleur (kolle van bruin, rooi of geel) . PPD's word in vyf tipes geklassifiseer: Schamberg's purpura, Majocchi purpura, lichen aureus, Gougerot-Blum purpura, eczematoid-like purpura of Doucas and Kapetanakis. Schamberg disease (SD) is ook bekend as progressive pigmentary dermatosis of Schamberg, purpura pigmentosa progressiva, Schamberg's purpura.

Behandeling is aan 36 pasiënte (94. 7%) toegedien - oral antihistamines, pentoxifylline, topical steroids, and/or phototherapy.
